Company/product affiliation:

None - privately purchased

Rating: 4.5 out of 5

Usage:

  • Mainly Tasmania hiking, including multi-day hikes such as South Coast Track, Overland Track and Walls of Jerusalem.  This included carrying backpack up to 28kg.

Terrain:

  • Mud, rocks, roots, boardwalks and beach in wet and dry conditions.

Experience:

  • Although the boots may be on the heavier side, they are rock solid and provide outstanding ankle support;
  • The sole is very good on slippery surfaces, which amazed me as the sole is pretty hard to accommodate walking on sharp rocks;
  • Not much wearing in time required;
  • Kept dry feet throughout the entire South Coast Track, which is pretty much unheard off;
  • Excellent for wider feet; and
  • Can wear all day without blisters or rubbing.

Negatives:

  • Slightly on the heavier side;
  • After about 3 months of solid hiking, there seems to be a little lifting between the layers of the soles, but nothing to be concerned about yet.

Would I recommend this product:

  • Definitely, these are probably the best hiking boots I have ever owned.
