This was a walk that had been on the 'to-do-list' for some years. We finally decided to take the 2-hour drive out to Grapetree where we passed through 2 farm gates to reach the start.
It was pleasant bushwalking initially following forestry roads, through patches of giant prickly pear....
.... before reaching a small cliff line.
From here we headed off-track down to a dry creek bed (full of lantana)....
...before heading up the hill on the other side. Once on top, we were afforded views of Lake Perseverance.
...and an awesome outcrop of rocks made for a perfect lunch spot.
Dropping down to the base of the cliff line, after lunch, we explored the brilliantly coloured caves and crevices.
A bit of fun was had hanging around like a pair of monkeys!
After a bit of play, it was time to walk back to the start, along a fire trail...
...taking in yet more brilliant colours in this landscape.
