Day 18: Korea Cross Country Cycle Route
Daegu to Angjin Town

All ready for our 65km day, we rolled out of the hotel, and Alex commented, "my bike feels squishy." Sure enough, 200 metres down the road we pulled into a park and found the front tyre almost flat. A tyre change to start the day!

Back on the road, we passed a statue in town and I couldn't resist a Korean photo pose with it. Next up was Samunjin Historical Park and its piano sculptures, which commemorate the first piano brought to Korea in 1900.

We carried on to the next weir for morning tea with great views. Afterwards we came across a pretty, delicate pink flower field, so it was photo op time again.

A tunnel saved us a hill before we visited the 400-year-old Dogong Seowon Confucian Academy. More riverside cycling and a few small hills brought us to the next weir and stamp booth for our bike passports, plus an unusual sculpture over the road.

A few more kilometres and we reached Angjin Town, our home for the night. Our hotel owner is very friendly and accommodating, but the hotel cleanliness leaves a little to be desired. Nevertheless, it's a bed for the night!
