Day 23: Korea Cycle Route
Busan Day 2
Today's mission: Haedong Yonggunsa Temple. A train and a bus got us there.
Everyone recommends going at sunrise. We decided against it, figuring it would be too busy. So we arrived at 10:30 instead, and OMG. Probably thousands of people. Alex went straight into meltdown. 😅
The temple is perched right on the sea cliffs and the location is amazing, so it was worth the trip. But with the crowds it ended up a fairly quick visit. At the nearby food vendors we tried a honey cheese pancake (yum!). Then we headed off on foot to Songjeong Beach, where there were far fewer people, much to Alex's delight.
From there we walked the Busan Green Railway Coastal Walking Trail. It's a lovely coast walk beside the tourist railway, and the skywalks out over the sea along the way were fantastic.
In the afternoon we took the train back to the hotel. Another 10 kms+ of walking today. So much for rest days!
