Paddy's Falls and Peak Loop
Having done Paddy's Falls and Paddy's Peak previously on separate occasions we thought it may be nice to join the two together in a day hike.
Heading out on the forestry track we had to get our feet wet crossing Barney Creek. A little further we dropped into Paddy's creek and made our way up to the falls. The falls are stunning and the climb out directly from the falls on the western side was fun.
From here we continued off-track (I guess Paddy's Creek could be considered off-track as well) up a spur. The rocky outcrops on the way were spectacular and gave us great views of the big names in the park including Mt Barney, Mt Lindesay, Mt Maroon, etc.
So far the going was not too bad, but after we left a minor peak and headed towards Paddy's Peak the vegetation became very thick and we had to bush bash our way through it. That's what you get after a long wet summer.
Paddy's Peak was the perfect lunch spot. From here it was a relatively simple walk on a semi overgrown trail down the spur back to Barney Creek, where we recovered our sandals for the crossing.
Length of Hike
8.5 km approx
Time
5 hours
Best Time to do
Spring, Autumn or winter. Summer may be a bit hot.
